Pelta Charity Committee: a year in review

As we approach Christmas and the end of the year, we find ourselves in a time of both reflection and charity, looking back on the year and highlighting the wide number of charities we have helped. We hope that in shining a spotlight on this, we can help to bring further awareness to these wonderful causes.

In total this year, Pelta Medical Papers and its team have donated upwards of £3,800 to a variety of different causes, both local and national, including the following:

Brainwave, Stroke Association, The Abaseen Foundation, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Alice’s Escape, GoCharitable.Com, Breast Cancer UK, Beetham C of E School, Derian House, Blessings in Disguise, Beetham Sports, Kent Estuary Youth Project, St Johns Hospice, Kids Charity Centre, Rosemere Cancer, Milnthorpe Town and Corinthians Football Club.

Each of these donations has been led by our Pelta Charity Committee, a team of volunteers consisting of Finance Administrator Amanda Gardner, Logistics Manager Leon Lachmann and Production Manager David Nichols.

Dave Nichols of our Charity Committee reflected on the year:

It’s so important to be able to make a difference to these charities and organisations, especially as there is such a strong link between our company's purpose of supplying the healthcare market and what a lot of our benefactors set out to achieve. We have provided over 50% of our donations to local healthcare organisations and settings. We have also supported members of our own teams with their own fundraising initiatives and our people regularly ask for sponsorship from each other.

An example of this is when the Company and its employees supported Mike Robinson with his charity work for St John’s Hospice when he ran the Great North Run earlier this year. We will continue our Charity Committee work, which is even more important during these times as our local communities have been hit hard over the last couple of years.

Moving into the New Year, we plan to continue supporting the wider community as is reflected in our Company Vision at Pelta Medical Papers. To keep up to date with all the latest developments and projects we are leading at our Beetham Mill, please read our latest news.
