Extending our medical packaging paper service offering through our new thermoformer investment

Following our announcement last June, we are excited to share that we have made great strides in the acquisition of our A&D Thermoformer M425 pilot machine. As a company dedicated to innovation and customer satisfaction, we are always looking for new opportunities to improve our technical portfolio and develop our high-quality medical packaging papers.

The installation of the machine was a challenging task, and we had a team of hardworking engineers who worked tirelessly to ensure everything was set up and running smoothly. However, the results were immediately apparent once the machine was up and running. The project itself included modifications to the current room layout to introduce a space to run the machinery as well as to hold our customer meetings. With the support of A&D, we commissioned the machine in January 2023.

With this new investment secured and operational, our Application Lab has become a key part of our service offering. Not only can we offer our customers the opportunity to experiment with medical packaging solutions, but we are also better equipped to find the most suitable paper packaging for each unique application.

In addition to giving our customers the opportunity to experiment, the Thermoformer has also enabled us to expand our technical portfolio and offer even more solutions to our customers. With the new machine, we could develop new products, assess existing ones, explore new materials and processes, and provide initial Operational Qualification settings to support three-stage medical validation to our end customers. This is a significant step in the right direction as we are able to support our customers and their specific needs for medical device packaging.

Whilst it has only been operational since January, the Thermoformer has already been a resounding success, not just for us but also for our customers. It is a vital asset that allowed us to further increase collaboration and push the boundaries of what was previously possible in the healthcare packaging industry.
